Product information

Blue colored, odorless masking liquid for masking areas of the image that are not to be worked on on watercolor paper, smooth drawing cardboard and similar painting surfaces. Apply with cotton swab or wooden stick, pen or drawing pen.

How is Schmincke Rubbing Crepe processed?

• Shake before use
• Rubbing crepe dyed is ready for use and is applied e.g. with absorbent cotton or wooden sticks, writing or drawing pen. (Do not use valuable brushes!)
• The product is water-miscible, but dries quickly to a rubbery, water-insoluble film. (Product diluted with water may penetrate deeper into the substrate and may be more difficult to remove).
• Clean tools immediately after use with water or soap and water.
• Close container immediately after use.
• Do not paint over the masked area with water-based paints such as watercolors, gouache paints or AERO COLOR® Professional until the masking liquid has dried completely. (Drying takes from a few minutes to more than an hour depending on the layer thickness!)
• After the paint layer has dried, the rubbery masking liquid can be removed by carefully rubbing it off with a dry, grease-free finger. (Do not peel off!)
• The product must not remain on the substrate for longer than 2 days and must be removed completely. Otherwise there is a risk of yellowing of the substrate!
• Particularly soft, weakly sized papers with structure, such as rag or torchon papers, are not suitable for the masking technique.
• Close containers immediately after use.
• Store in a cool and dry place.
• Protect from frost.
• Individual pre-tests are recommended.
