Model Air Set RAF & FAA Day Fighters Pre-War to 1941

Vallejo Airbrush Colors - Set of 8

Product information

Vallejo Model Air paints are water-based matte acrylic paints specially formulated for airbrushing. Various new acrylic resins have been used in the manufacture of these paints to achieve properties not previously possible in water-based paints. The excellent resistance, hardness and opacity of Model Air are superior to any previous airbrush acrylic paint and allow the colors to be applied with brushes to the smallest details of miniatures. The pigments were selected for their light resistance and optimal micronization. The special formula of Model Air allows overpainting with several diluted layers of paint for washes and weathering effects.

Color selection:

The colors have been carefully selected to offer the modeling industry the most commonly used tones, and during more than two years tests have been carried out to develop the exact shades RLM, RAL and FS; BS and ANA colors. Model Air colors can be mixed with each other, and diluted with water, Model Air thinner, varnish or even alcohol, depending on the desired effect, although Model Air thinner is recommended because the formula is adapted to the colors.

Surfaces:

Model Air is suitable for use on all surfaces. On resin and plastic models as well as on metal miniatures, Model Air adheres excellently and does not require prior priming. For very dark surfaces, it is recommended to prime the models with white or light gray first to enhance the luminosity of the colors.

Directions for use:

Shake well before use and pour the paint directly into the airbrush, either undiluted or diluted beforehand with Thinner (71.261). Model Air colors can be mixed with each other and dry quickly, they can be further processed immediately with glazes, pigments, dry brush and other aging techniques.

Safety / Toxicity:

Model Air has the following international safety certifications: EN71-3:2013 and ASTM D-4236. These independent certifications guarantee that no harmful substances are used that could pose a risk to the health of both users and the environment.

Use with airbrush and compressor:

Model Air series can be used without dilution with nozzle size from 0.2 mm. Environmental conditions may change the viscosity of the product and lead to the need for dilution. We recommend working with a compressor pressure between PSI 10 - 15 or 0.75 - 1.10 Bar (0.5 - 1 kgs).
