Product information

Metal and Iron Primers are water-based, solvent-free products. They do not adhere to every substrate. Therefore, objects made of glass, porcelain, raw and glazed ceramics, lacquered wood surfaces, MDF parts, plastics and synthetic textiles must be pre-treated with this adhesive primer beforehand. It is also used to prime absorbent parts made of wood and raw ceramics. This prevents repeated application of metal primer, which is more cost-intensive than applying adhesive primer. Universal-Haftgrund is applied in a thin coat and dries firmly within 30 to 40 minutes. It is water and corrosion resistant and has been modified to bond firmly to both smooth and textured surfaces, at the same time providing secure adhesion for the iron and metal primer, and also universally for all other paints, varnishes, fillers, etc. This simultaneously creates a uniform substrate, which is visually advantageous for the subsequent application of iron and metal primer.
