Extendable inks have a long tradition. They are pigmented inks that can be diluted with distilled water and dry up water- and eraser-resistant. They are therefore ideally suited for surface tinting, washings with a brush and for creating lines. Effective chiaroscuro effects can be achieved. The ink flows excellently from the various drawing instruments.
In its range of application, it is suitable not only for fine calligraphic work and pen and ink drawings, but also for wash-off techniques and painterly drawings.
The chemical difference to the drawing inks, grade 29 700, lies fundamentally in the binder. In the case of the extension inks, this consists of a shellac solution, in the case of drawing ink, it consists of a pure acrylate.
The Black ink must be stirred after standing for a long time.
The colors are ready for use and can be diluted with water. They can be applied to paper, cardboard and wood by brush, pen, drawing pen and airbrush (nozzle diameter: 0.5-0.8 mm). Other substrates, such as fabric, metal or glass must be tested for adhesion and wetting before painting.
