Product information
For architectural modeling, designers, decorators, artists (including arts and crafts classes) and prototyping. Of course, also suitable for classic model making (train, flight, ship, etc.).
Sturdy body with 390 x 280 mm work surface made of aluminum cobond composite material. With a surface structure that allows the workpiece to slide evenly. Imprinted grid and angle division facilitate practical work. Solid aluminum bracket (350 mm throat depth and 140 mm height clearance). With saddle and wire spool (30 m cutting wire Ø 0.2 mm included). Miter cuts are possible by moving the saddle.
LED operation indicator prevents burnt fingers, because the cutting wire heats up to full temperature in less than 1 second.
The built-in isolation transformer and class 2 protective insulation make the unit absolutely safe. The heating elements operate at 10 volts at 1 ampere.
The correct temperature (depending on the material and thickness) is learned by feel and practice. An optimal cutting pattern is rather achieved at medium temperature and moderate pressure. By the way, Styrofoam is an inexpensive material, very environmentally friendly compared to other materials and can be easily cut with the hot wire.
